Jim Coleman
Williamson County native, Jim graduated Belmont University’s School of Business in 1987. Son and grandson to home builders, Jim has been in construction his entire life. He started his career in the grading and utility business, joining Biscan Construction in 1988. Jim gained experience on a wide variety of projects, advancing quickly through roles of increasing opportunity to become a partner 8 years later. From then, he ran day-to-day operations through his strategic planning, dedication, and motivation, and has helped the company grow to the nine-figure operation it is today.
Jim and his wife Kate have two sons and two grandchildren. Their passions include horses, western big game hunting, skiing, wine collecting, spending time on their working farms, and spoiling their grandbabies. Jim is notoriously known for being a family man, and this largely translates into how he runs and operates Biscan Construction.
Jim is always accessible to employees and clients and maintains an open-door policy throughout the company. “I’ve always strongly believed that to succeed in this business, it is very important to treat all employees and subcontractors as equal partners on every project. Lead, but listen to everyone’s input. Constantly seek out what can be done to make everyone’s tasks more efficient and profitable, and help to make that happen.”
